Psychiatry is a medical specialty which focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of behavioral, psychological, and neurodevelopmental disorders. Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics is an area which focuses on children who exhibit differences in their behavior and/or development, such as those which occur in Autism Spectrum Disorders, genetic conditions, and ADHD. Many children show the best response to a combination of environmental supports and medication. Dr. Kershner takes the time to talk with parents about their concerns and answer all of their questions. She works closely with other physicians and clinicians in order to provide the best possible care. Dr. Kershner is a recognized expert in the use of medication in children. She combines a warm and compassionate approach with a detailed, comprehensive evaluation in order to provide children and their families with a safe, effective treatment plan.
Dr. Kershner is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, and the American Board of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. She is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, the Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, CHADD, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
